Portofino and San Fruttuoso

The contrast of palazzos built in different eras, the traditional ceramics and metal craft shops and the inevitable and delicious culinary specialities define the city's character that encompasses all the flavors of the Mediterranean area.
A visit to the Lantern Tower, the magnificent lighthouse rising about eighty meters above sea level, can't be missed. From here, a pleasant stroll along the famous Corso Italia will lead you to the enchanting seaside village of Boccadasse.

The Genoa Aquarium is an extremely modern addition to the historic atmosphere of the Ancient port, pride of recent urban renovations, it houses 72 tanks displaying an extraordinary variety of marine species including sharks, dolphins, turtles, seals, reptiles and an amazing penguin pool.
The Galata Maritime Museum, inaugurated in 2004, is most probably the largest permanent multimedia exhibit dedicated to the Mediterranean and naval evolution.

The Ducal Palace of Genoa, past seat of ancient republic doges, now houses a rich selection of exhibits, debates and conventions in its frescoed rooms.
The Genoa Expo Center is a significant part of the city's economy: an entire expo center built overlooking the sea which hosts the celebrated Nautical Expo.

Portovenere

Delightful town on the Ligurian Riviera located at the Western tip of the gulf.

The view of the minute but charming churches of San Pietro and San Lorenzo and diving excursions in the sea caves at the nearby Palmaria island make it the true paradise of the Ligurian Riviera.
